Hogs Call On Beilema

Shocked. Stunned. Smart.
That was the reaction by most involved in the sports media world especially ones that cover college football and the SEC. This seems to be an 11th hour hire as Beilema’s name was not mentioned until reported by Yahoo sports, yesterday afternoon. Another surprising aspect of this hire Brett Beilema’s recent ridicule of SEC’s culture and coaches.
“We at the Big Ten don’t want to be like the SEC in any way shape or form” said Beilema, not the best way to make an entrance a into a very spirited football conference.
A choice the Arkansas coach will have to make is to coach in the Rose Bowl, (Wisconsin’s third straight under Beilema). There’s no word on which assistant’s will Beilema take to Fayetteville. No doubt it’s a spectacular hire for Arkansas, the question is now can Beilema salvage this Arkansas recruiting class and return the Razorbacks to the top of the SEC West. There was an interesting twist to the story as it is rumored that Nebraska head coach Bo Pelini was the Hogs first choice before being blasted by Wisconsin in the B1G Ten Championship.
It is almost certain that Arkansas’s offensive style will change with this coaching hire. The power running game that will be implemented is a fresh change from their wide-open offense the Hogs had been used to in years past under Bobby Petrino. The defensive side of the ball should be more physical and faster than what the ex-Wisky coach is used to recruiting.
Make no mistake this is a shrewd move by the Hogs higher-ups, dare I say: WOO PIG SOOIE!!
